Destination Gettysburg bases its marketing strategy on research. Not only can this research identify how much money is being spent in Adams County, Pa., but it can provide the organization with the vital information in needs in regards to our visitors’ demographics, how long they are staying in our destination, and some of their spending habits.
This information is then used by Destination Gettysburg to establish its own strategy in reaching new visitors and extending their stay – thus increasing the benefits to the local economy.
Destination Gettysburg uses a statewide economic report (below left) that identifies the impact that tourism provides to the county economy, its governments and the jobs that tourism supports.
In 2023, Destination Gettysburg received travel data through Arrivalist, which uses cell phone technology to deliver highly detailed information on visitors and the points of interest throughout Adams County.
