Gettysburg named a top destination

Gettysburg moved up to the No. 5 group travel destination in the United States, as voted by the readers of Byways Magazine - a trade publication for group tour operators.
 
The destination moved up four spots from 2016's ranking, currently behind only New York City, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Niagara Falls. 
 
Gettysburg outranked group tour giants like Branson, Mo.; Atlantic City, N.J.; Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; and Lancaster, Pa. - as well as major cities such as Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, Orlando and New Orleans.
 
In addition, Pennsylvania ranked second in the country for group travel with Philadelphia, Gettysburg, Lancaster, Hershey and Valley Forge in the Top 50.
