12/5/2017 0 Comments Destination Gettysburg gives backGiving back to the community in economic benefits through tourism, of course, is Destination Gettysburg's core mission. But the destination marketing organization of Adams County, Pa. is also a contributor to a variety of community causes and needs including events, community projects and supporting other key organizations throughout the county. In 2017, Destination Gettysburg has donated nearly $50,000, including $20,000 to support Main Street Gettysburg, $15,000 to cover the cost of the Fourth of July fireworks, and $3,000 to help cover Adams County Arts Council's cost of the New Year's Eve Celebration in Lincoln Square. Recently, several donations have been made to such organizations as Old Getty Place for the Halloween Parade, Lincoln Fellowship of Pennsylvania for the Dedication Day Ceremony, and the East Berlin VFW toward the restoration of a F-14 Tomcat aircraft (pictured above). Destination Gettysburg also contributes $1,000 to the Gettysburg Garden Club for the watering of the flowers throughout the Borough of Gettysburg, and donates its services to the Gettysburg Brass Band Festival. "Giving back to the community is important to Destination Gettysburg," said Norris Flowers, President. "These organizations are working hard to host events as well as provide an attractive community to welcome our visitors."
