The Federal Pointe Inn, located in the historic district of downtown Gettysburg, has been named the 2017 “Hotel of the Year” by Choice Hotels International for the Ascend Hotel Collection. This national award is given each year to the best of the 160 hotels of the Ascend brand, which is for unique, historic boutique hotels across the United States and internationally. The hotel, which was built as a school in 1896, was transformed into a boutique hotel in 2012 when it then joined the Ascend Hotel Collection. “Our hotel property was selected as the hotel of the year based on our guests’ experience, including the upscale feel of a repurposed school and most importantly the dedication of the staff to provide outstanding service,” said owner and general manager Peter Monahan. “We offer charm and sophistication in a relaxed, yet elegant, boutique hotel atmosphere. The Federal Pointe Inn take the guests back in time to experience the grandeur of a luxury hotel.” Being the owner and general manager of two Choice Hotel properties in the last 22 years, Peter has been a finalist for “Hotel of the Year,” twice with the Federal Pointe Inn and twice with Quality Inn at General Lee’s Headquarters. Recently, the Federal Pointe Inn announced the opening of its new Carriage House situated adjacent to the inn and featuring five new upscale rooms. The inn features a pub, meeting space and a variety of amenities. For more information on the Federal Pointe Inn, visit www.federalpointeinn.com.
