Leisure Group Travel Magazine has named Gettysburg one of its "Top 5 Foodie Hotspots in the Eastern U.S. in 2016," according to its latest issue. Gettysburg joined the Finger Lakes in New York; Providence, R.I.; Burlington, Vt.; and The Berkshires in Massachusetts in the magazine's listing. "Gettysburg’s growing culinary reputation is rooted in the agricultural bounty of Adams County, one of the prime apple-growing regions in the country. Here in the heart of the Pennsylvania Fruit Belt, the Gettysburg Wine & Fruit Trail, a collection of orchards, farm markets and wineries, is getting more visitors out into the scenic countryside," the magazine said. Destination Gettysburg worked with Leisure Group Travel editor Randy Mink on the article, which mentions Savor Gettysburg Food Tours, Reid's Orchard & Winery as well as the new PA Cider Fest this June.
