tourism community donates to senior citizens in need

The members of Destination Gettysburg came out in a big way this week when Destination Gettysburg asked businesses to contribute items - toiletries, socks, gifts, etc. - for senior citizens in need throughout Adams County, Pa.

Destination Gettysburg worked with the Adams County Office of the Aging to understand their need and contribute to senior citizens this holiday season.

In all, 500 items were collected at Destination Gettysburg's annual holiday gathering, and 100 bags were donated to the Office of Aging. Remaining items were donated to WellSpan Gettysburg's Caring Closet program for patients who need various items.

Members of the tourism community helped package the items and sign cards for recipients.

Destination Gettysburg thanks the entire tourism community of Adams County for helping out with this cause.
