Travel Media Get Festive In Adams County

The holiday season is an important time for the Adams County tourism community because of the opportunity to extend the season for visitors and generate revenue for businesses through the New Year's holiday.
 
For years, Destination Gettysburg's marketing of the holiday season focused on the dozens of events, the shopping, cozy accommodations and great restaurants to celebrate the holiday season, which runs from Thanksgiving through New Year's Day. Adams County is a great place to relax and enjoy the season.
 
Last week, eight travel journalists, which included bloggers, editors and writers, spent a short weekend in Adams County experiencing the holiday season. Destination Gettysburg's intention was to generate coverage for future holiday seasons, but also provide these journalists' audiences with content this year through social media, videos and blogs while the journalists were here on their tour.
 
The tour received great feedback from journalists and the season's first snowfall provided a beautiful backdrop to the holiday season in Adams County.
 
So far, the tour has resulted in a handful of articles and dozens of social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter.
